Being Judgmental

When he told me that I was being judgmental, was he not being judgmental about me or was he not passing judgment about the girl’s capabilities?

Winning Vs. Losing

flying2

The other day my younger daughter came back from school and as usual she was giving me the details on how was her day in the school.

In the spare time, she was practicing ping-pong with a friend.  Another girl of her standard who was watching the game told her that I would really commend your game, if you can defeat the opponent.
On this she replied, I would also appreciate my game, if I can concentrate on my game better and can win.

I was amazed at her thinking, such a small girl and how elaborate her thinking is.  When I asked her to describe the difference between the two she said that I would rather concentrate more on my game skills to win the game than how to defeat the opponent.

Thinking – A Human Mind

Watch your thoughts,
for they become words.
Watch your words,
for they become actions.
Watch your actions,
for they become habits.
Watch your habits,
for they become character.
Watch your character,
for it becomes your destiny.

The process of thinking by man is complex. When one thinks, a sophisticated network that is far superior to any computerized logic unfolds, and one’s thoughts race from one situation to the other. It is because of this that “distraction” of thought creeps in. We get carried away by thoughts unconnected with the main issue and this may lead to unfavorable situations. I am not even remotely suggesting that our thought process characterized by a chain is unhealthy. On the other hand, unless this chain works effectively we will not be able to consider various possibilities and situations in a short time and come to a stage of finality.

“What we think, we become.”

Having said this, it is necessary to channel our thoughts properly if we are to act and behave in a manner that is acceptable to others and to ourselves. Let me give you an example. If we are assigned to do a task, we should guide our thinking process towards the following:

- Developing a concept to ensure that what is required is achieved

- Consideration of various alternatives

- Execution of the task efficiently and effectively

This example is mentioned only to highlight the fact that we should be on guard always and think in the right direction if we are to give meaning to our lives. Let us consider the scenario that we don’t think coherently and constructively. Thi

  1. We could be living in utopia and thinking of various impossible, and think that desired situations that we would like to be in do not work the way we think.
  2. We could also adopt a positive attitude and think of the ways we can have success by making an attempt.
  3. Talking of fantasizing and being creative, some people are very good at “dreaming” of situations. Poets, for example, in the right environment are able to think of situations that they convert to sweet rhyme. A painter or writer is able to practice his art because he lets his mind flow. If not born with this gift, we can try to cultivate it.

Every human mind is a treasure of thought, each one different from the other. Use your thoughts well and shun thoughts that harm others or yourself.

“Those who know how to think need no teachers.”

One Life to Live

How can we enjoy our present moment – NOW
Wonderful Nature

Each day of our life appears to consist of thousands of moments and so many things happening in those moments. Yet if we look minutely, is there not only one moment, at a time? This one moment – Now – is the only moment, one can never escape from. Whatever happens, no matter how much our life changes, one thing is always there; its NOW.

As we cannot escape from the Now, why not welcome it and become friendly with it?

How can we enjoy our present moment – NOW

1. Be Mindful of whatever you are doing – If you are walking, notice each step taken by you. If eating, notice each morsel/bite.

2. Watch your thoughts – Come out of your thoughts and just observe them.

  • Do not judge
  • Do not Analyse
  • Just watch your thoughts.

These thoughts will subside and you feel the joy of present moment.

3. Let it be – Accept everything as it comes to you with open heart. Whatever the moment brings, accept it. Enjoy the pleasure and suffer the pain and move on. Don not hold onto anything.

4. Be aware of your emotions – Sometimes we feel an emotional pain, it could be from the things that happened in past or just happened. We feel pain in our body, as it is clogged energy. Again , as mentioned above, do not judge or analyse the pain. Just watch as an observer and it would subside.

5. Give 10 minutes daily to yourself. Sitting in silence, just observe your breath. Simple inhaling and exhaling.

I am sure, this would give you allot of relaxation and you would enjoy your life to the fullest.

With warm regards,

Kavita

FEW FACTS ABOUT LIFE

I find few truths about life fascinating :

1. Our life is sacred. We should honour it.

2. Everything is a part of life, make use of every situation in life as a stepping stone towards growth.

3. One thing which is permanent is “change”. Everything is temporary, everything changes.

4. Be alone a little while daily. Take some time off for yourself. It nurture your spirit.

5. Keep a deep routed faith in yourself and in your life.

6. Point out mistakes of others if you have a healthy solution also. And while doing so, always

remember we all are human being, to commit mistakes is an integral part of us.

7. Stop blaming others and yourself too. Everyone seeks love. Give what you want to get.

I always feel that even if 100 years of life are granted to each one of us, still life is too short. Just love your life the way it is….

With Lots of Love;

Thankfulness

“To be upset over what you don’t have is to waste what you do have.” ~Ken S. Keyes, Jr.,

When I read this sentence, it makes me think of so many things I have been granted in my life.

We are so busy looking at things we don’t have in our life that we forget to relish what we have.

Here are few gifts you can think over:

Our surroundings

We all are surrounded by beautiful nature. Take a look around you. Beautiful trees, flowers, sky, sun, rain, birds and of course everyday, we are gifted with a new day.

Our family

We have been granted a lovely family. In our daily life, we start to take our family for granted and forget to focus on that gift.

Our friends

We have some friends, who are always there to share our views, or stand besides us during our tough times. Are we grateful about them?

Our present circumstances

We have food to eat, pure water to drink, clothes to wear and a shelter, Shouldn’t we be thankful?

I am sure, you must be thankful of many things besides this. Just write three gifts you have been granted and you feel good about them.

With my warmest regards,

Kavita
